Built for contractors who live life on the road
Contractors Stay Away is a UK-based booking platform dedicated to one thing: making life easier for contractors and construction teams who work away from home.
Instead of trying to squeeze contractor needs into holiday-let platforms and generic hotel sites, we’ve built something different – a place where secure parking, decent beds and practical facilities come first.
If you’re tired of scrolling through family cottages and city-break apartments just to find somewhere that works for your crew, you’re in the right place.
Contractors Stay Away was born from the same frustrations many tradespeople and project managers share:
We saw construction crews trying to coordinate digs over WhatsApp, spreadsheets and last-minute bookings, while property owners with ideal places for contractors struggled to reach them.
So we set out to build a dedicated platform that connects the two – contractors who need reliable digs and hosts who understand what those stays require.
Contractors Stay Away brings together properties across the UK that are specifically suited to contractor stays. On our platform you can:
Search digs by location – near your site, project postcode or town.
See clear room and bed layouts – no more guessing who’s on a camp bed.
Our Filters - Filter by price, number of beds and security level.
Online Booking - Check live availability in a calendar view and book online.
We prioritise accommodation that helps protect your team, vehicles and tools.
No vague descriptions. We push for clear, useful property details so you can make decisions quickly.
We want hosts and contractors to build long-term relationships and repeat stays.
We know project life is hectic. Our aim is to make booking digs one less thing you have to worry about.
Working away from home is tough enough, without:
Parking three streets away with a van full of kit
Fighting for a plug socket to charge your phone and laptop
Sharing tiny hotel rooms with no space to relax
Check live availability in a calendar view and book online.
We think contractors should be able to book accommodation that:
Keeps vans, tools and equipment as safe as possible
Has proper showers, heating and laundry for long shifts and bad weather
Offers enough beds and bedrooms for the whole team
Feels professional, comfortable and reliable
