Contractors Stay Away is a UK-based booking platform that connects construction contractors and trades with short-term accommodation that actually suits working away from home – houses, apartments and rooms with proper beds, secure parking and practical facilities.
It’s designed for:
Use the search bar to enter the town, city or postcode of your project. Then filter by price, number of beds, security level and other options to find suitable properties close to site.
Each property has a Security Rating (1–5 stars) based on the security features the host has added – such as off-road parking, gated driveways, garages, CCTV, alarms and 24/7 monitoring. It’s designed to help you quickly see how well vans, tools and equipment can be protected.

Yes. Once you’ve found a property you like, select your dates, check the availability calendar and follow the booking steps on the property page. You’ll receive confirmation by email once the booking is confirmed.
If you have a question about a particular listing, please contact the host directly using the phone number or WhatsApp details displayed on their property page. They will know far more about the property, local area and availability than we ever could.
Yes. Many hosts are happy to accommodate longer stays. Search for properties that suit your crew, then either book the dates shown or contact the host via the details on the listing to discuss longer-term arrangements and rates.
Click Become a Host (or similar button) to create a host account. Once logged in, you can add a new property, upload photos, write a description, set your price per night and fill in details like number of rooms, beds, parking and security features.
Yes. Hosts can manage multiple properties from a single dashboard. After you’ve registered as a host, just click Add Property again to create another listing.
For hosts, the current annual fee to list properties is £100. The fee is paid before listing and gives access for 365 days. There is no separate booking commission for hosts at present.
For contractors and customers, we charge a 5% service fee on each booking. This is included in the total price shown before you confirm the booking.
